Swakopmund to Jakalswater Farm
At Swakopmund we stayed with Valereis who then took us out to her 30,000 hectare farm. By farm think differently to NZ. Fencing around the perimeter only. Base soil - sand and rock, animals a few springbok, oryx, a few warthog, 2 giraffes except one had escaped to visit the ladies on the next door property. So seeing these occurred now and again whilst driving around the property. Plants - desert type plants and trees sparsely populated. Grass more like instant hay. Any water courses / rivers just sand. We stayed a couple of nights there where she showed us the remnants of WW1 history as well as the scenery.
